I just wanted to share with everyone some of my projects I have been doing around the house. 

Since I don't work full time anymore I have a lot more time to do things that I love, like paint and hang out with Tori. Even though I am renting my home my landlords have given me the okay to paint it how I please. Plus we plan to buy the house someday.

This was one of the many times I was home bored with Tori. I was taking picture of her and I wanted to take a picture of her and her cute bear. It just so happened that this bear was wearing a tinkerbell outfit AND it just so happened to fit Tori as well. Thus the results.

Tori can sleep anywhere. I love it. Usually we can just put her down with a bottle and she will fall asleep. It's great. She does pass out in some pretty funny positions. Here are a few.

I love my new Ford Fusion. It's very smooth and comfortable. Trunk space is amazing as well. It gets great gas mileage. It's a wonderful little family car.

I know I am horrible

My Mac computer has been down on and off the past couple weeks. That computer has all my pictures on it and I feel like I can't post something else it has a picture to go along with it.

Brett and I have just been busy at work and doing stuff around the house.

Brett works Monday-Friday 7-3:30 I work Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 4 until whenever. So we really only get to spend together a couple nights a week and all day Sunday.

During our time together we have now started a new television series called Jericho. It's pretty addicting. It's about this little town in Kansas called Jericho and what they go through after a couple major cities in the US get blown up. Of course it has it's heroes and enemies. Check it out if the have the time. We are now on disk 5 of the 1st season. Ha... I just found a picture to go with this.

No mas

I have a couple things to blog about bare with me.....

Last Thursday August 14th, Wow that was a week ago. Was an interesting day. 

This is the story as I was told/remember. For more details ask Brett.

I was super excited because that Thursday we, as a Primary Presidency, were going to have our first meeting together and I had so many idea floating around my head. Well if any of your are LDS you know that meetings never start on time, unless it's sacrament meeting. The meeting started at 4:00 at 4:10 I get a call from Brett and he says 

"Um... I have a problem, I just got in an accident. I'm okay but the car is pretty messed up. They are sending a tow truck."

 "Do I need to come and get you?"  

 "Maybe I will call you back."

He calls me back and says the car is un-driveable (sp?) 

I didn't want to leave my much anticipated meeting that had just started, so I called up my good brother Nate and had him pick up my truck and go and get Brett. Thanks Nate Dawg : )

I guess what happened was that Brett was driving home on the I-10 going westbound in the far left lane next to the carpool lane. He was slowing down, not stopping, just like you do in stop and go traffic, when so crazy crack out guy rammed into him which propelled him into the car in front of him. EVERYONE WAS OKAY. Our new 2007 Hyundai Tucson however is not. The bumper is no mas/more, exhaust is bent, the doors really will not open, and the radiator was broken. Brett never even saw the guy coming. I believe the van in front got some damage but didn't have to be towed. The guy behind wouldn't talk to anyone because he was either to shocked or stoned too. I believe they did take him to the hospital just to be safe but there was no visible damage. The police officer did determine it was the stupid guy's, behind Brett, fault. 

So his insurance company has hooked us up with a rental car that we are loving. It's a 2006 Ford Fusion. It actually goes fast when you push on the gas unlike my 4 cylinder suv. 

We just got the word yesterday that there was extensive damage that it is a total loss. 

We are kind of excited that we get to buy a new car. it was a blessing as well because we wanted to get out of our high priced suv but didn't know how. Now we are just looking for something cheap and gets good gas mileage. 

Cool Feature

I love my truck. We have a big beautiful Dodge truck. I just hate the gas mileage of course. So it hardly ever gets taken around. But it does have a cool feature it tells you how many miles you have left until you run out of gas. We push it to the limit all the time. But unfortunately when it says zero miles to go and I put in $15 bucks it still remains at zero. So we just continue to drive it and try to determine our mileage ourselves. 

So this super cool feature that is offered in our truck, is not so helpful. 

Well..... you can imagine what happened. I got in the truck with Tori and we were on our way to drop her off at the grandparents so I could work. The truck didn't even want to roll more than 3 feet in any direction. After a couple tries it seemed to work okay. (my parents only live 2 miles away so I thought I might be okay). I just coasted it through my neighborhood, and around the corner to the stop sign, I was doing okay until I need to turn on to the major street. There I was in the middle of the road stopped and cars were starting to come from all directions. Some how I got the truck to roll backwards and get it out of the middle. A very nice Goodyear citizen helped me push the truck to the side of the road while I waited for my brother Nate to come and rescue me. I realized during that, 10-12 minute, wait that it is cooler outside of a car than inside with no AC. My truck read that it was 117 degree outside as well. Gross. Me and poor Tori got all red and sweaty. 

I am never going to trust my truck again. 

7 months

My little girl in now 7 months old today. Man she is growing fast. I continue to grow more and more attached. I get really bored when she takes her two to three hour nap. She is getting more and more interactive as well. She loves to play peek-a-boo and watch her baby einsteins. 

7 Things Tori can do now.

1. Sit up by herself

2. Hold her own bottle.

3. Sticks her tongue out.

4. Blows raspberry's 

5. Has a couple teeth growing in. 

6. Likes to standing while holding something. 

7. Splashes in the tub on purpose now.

New Calling

So I have been in my ward a total of one and half months. Sunday I received my new calling. I am now the 1st counselor in the Primary Presidency. I am really excited about it but wasn't really surprised at all. They just reorganized every organization in my church and everyone was receiving new callings/assignment. I was asked two or three weeks after I moved in to sub as the primary chorister while someone was out of town for the 4th of July. I new that if I did a good job then I would probably end up helping in the primary. So now that brings us to today. I just hope my kids act like this.

Before I was a Mom...

Before I was a Mom
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom -
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin .
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put him down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much..
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom -
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom -
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache,
the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

6 months

Holy cow my little girl is 6 months old now. Man the time has gone by so fast. She doesn't even look the same to me anymore. In six months I am totally use to being a mom and having her around all the time. It's wonderful to watch her grow. 

6 things she can do now. 

1. Sleeps about 10 hours at night.

2. Loves to stand when you hold her. 

3. Loves watching Tv especially Baby Einstein. 

4. Interacts with me now and tries to make the same faces I do.

5. Recognizes people she knows. 

6. Developed a personality/ attitude.

She doesn't like that too much, but she always falls asleep within 5-10 minutes.

Ode to Batman

Spectacular movie full of intense scenes that left me wanting more. If you are one of the rare few who haven't seen it yet, I would advise that you do so Immediately. You won't want to miss this one. Health Ledger was excellent and very disturbing. Christian Bale can be my hero anytime. 

Spider-Man Batman forever.

The Dark Knight chased Spider-Man 3 from the record books with a $155.3 opening weekend gross, per Exhibitor Relations Co. estimates today.

The figure capped three days of eye-popping figures for the Christopher Nolan film. The highlights:

• The Dark Knight made more money in Friday midnight screenings ($18.5 million) than its predecessor, Batman Begins, made in any one day.
• The Dark Knight made more money in one day ($66.4 million on Friday) than Batman Beginsmade in any one weekend.
• The Dark Knight made about as much money in its second-biggest day ($48 million on Saturday) as Batman Begins made in its biggest weekend ($48.7 million).

• The Dark Knight made more money in its third-biggest day ($39 million on Sunday) than Get Smart and You Don't Mess With the Zohan, to name two recent hits, made in their respective opening weekends.
• The Dark Knight made more money in its biggest day than Hancock, WALL-E and Kung-Fu Panda, to name three recent supersize hits, made in their respective opening weekends.
• The Dark Knight made more money in its opening weekend than the previous top-three-opening Batman movies (Batman Forever, Batman Begins, Batman Returns) made in their opening weekends—combined.

About the only thing The Dark Knight didn't do was keep up the frenetic pace it set with Friday's $66.4 million blowout, a performance which set new records as Hollywood's biggest-ever opening day and biggest-ever single day.

"Some people probably stayed away [to avoid] the crowds," Exhibitor Relations' Jeff Bock said.

Bock does not think audiences will stay away next weekend. He expects The Dark Knight will become only the second movie this summer, after Iron Man, to hold the No. 1 position at the box office for more than one weekend.

"Spider-Man 3 was savaged by critics, and it fell off pretty quickly," Bock said. "I don't expect anything to happen with The Dark Knight."

Especially not with the Heath Ledger factor at play.

To Bock, The Dark Knight's box office benefited immensely from both curiosity and buzz surrounding Ledger's performance as iconic Batman foe The Joker. The role was the last completed by the young actor before his death in January.

"This is really unprecedented, an actor in a blockbuster film dying before the release," Bock said.

"Unprecedented" is one word to sum up the weekend.

"Batman" is another.

Flowers

I am so happy. All of my flowers at my house are blooming. They are so pretty. I noticed all the little purple buds yesterday and knew it would be soon. I looked outside today and Bam... they all bloomed. They look so beautiful. Here are some pictures of them. 

Busy week

Sorry if I haven't talked to any of  you in quite sometime. I have had a very busy and long week. My sister in law went to girls camp last week with her ward and her three kids stayed with me. My Angel of a mother-in-law flew down for the week so she could watch the kids at my house. We had a wonderful time with Austin, Jayden, and my Halle. We went to McDonald's a ton, the movies, a huge swimming pool, bowling, played many hours of guitar hero, and went to a water park. It was a very fun week but each night all of us were exhausted. Today is the first day in a week since I had my house to myself and I don't know what to do with myself. Tori is not enjoying only having me as entertainment today. She was super spoiled this past week. She has also learned a new scream when she wants attention(thanks Halle). She is in timeout right now for that.
